Landscape designer

Paul joins the IDS family after pivoting from an established career as a designer for stage and film based in New York. After relocating to the Bay Area, he enrolled at Merritt College, where he found a deep engagement with ecological design and was mentored by some of the Bay Area’s foremost planting experts. In his design work, he strives to leverage the beauty and diversity of California native plant communities and the profound potential of nature-based design solutions. Having spent many years devoted to the creation of cultural events, he is also motivated by the experiential possibilities at the intersection of landscape and the human community. 

Paul holds an A.A. in Landscape Architecture from Merritt College, M.F.A. in Design from the Yale School of Drama, and B.A. in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College. He lives in San Francisco with his partner, where they are most likely to be found either hiking a Bay Area trail or attending an arts performance. Soon, they hope to welcome a Norwich Terrier into their family.
