About IDS

Integrated Design Studio, Inc. (IDS) was founded in 2005 by Michael Erskine and Jane Sedonaen, ASLA with an underlying principle and mission: to provide unique, creative, and enduring designs through an integrated design process.

Landscape Architecture is about the intimate and powerful relationship between humans and the natural environment. As we find ourselves increasingly attached to technology and screens, indoor-outdoor connectivity becomes a key component of enhancing our health and well-being. The designed landscape fosters relaxation and re-connection to nature and the people around us. We design these spaces.

Our services include Land Planning,  Landscape Architecture, and Design. Our portfolio includes single-family residences, multi-family residences, schools, community projects, mixed use development, hotel and resort projects.  The technical expertise of our staff includes conceptual and schematic designs, construction documents, master planning, 3D rendering, and marketing strategies. IDS serves many roles as a designer, facilitator, and/or project manager, ushering projects through the permit process, design review boards, envisioning sessions and community workshops. Whatever the project size, we provide specialized attention to both the aesthetics and livability of the built environment.

The IDS Outdoor Design Center, located in Mill Valley, CA, showcases our custom landscape design. On site, clients and design teams experience quality design elements, materials, and accessories. This unique garden setting aims to spark creativity and generate a dialogue between homeowners, designers and suppliers to generate ideas through viewing designs, materials, finishes, planting, and lighting.
