Joan Grasser

 Joan joins the IDS team as a former graphic designer and current student of Landscape Architecture. After a successful 20-year career designing layouts for print, she pursued her passion for the outdoor environment by enrolling in the Landscape Architecture program through UCLA Extension. She has found that her career shift is more of an evolution than a departure, as her art and design skills seamlessly transfer between the two disciplines.

A Bay Area native, Joan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College and lives in Marin with her husband, three kids, and their gentleman dog. She loves time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and working in her vegetable garden.
