Alex, a Southern California native, found her home in the Bay Area, a place that truly allows her to express her creativity as a designer. Alex believes that a connection to nature, to each other and to our cultural past and present are essential to a meaningful life. Alex’s love for ecology, art and design led her to the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley where she earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture.
Alex is passionate about creating an immersive experience in landscape through understanding the intersectionality of people and the built environment. Her work is driven by a fascination with the natural processes of landscape that change over time and how design can influence people’s perceptions and functionality of the landscape. With a background in architecture and interior design, she continually seeks opportunities to include innovative strategies in her designs to enhance user experience and engagement with the environment. She brings a diverse design background to IDS where she assists with concepts, design development and construction drawings on a variety of projects.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog, bike riding throughout Marin and exploring National Parks.
