Devin, originally from San Diego, moved to the Bay Area to surround himself with creative likeminded people and the diverse outdoor environments that Northern California has to offer.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from San Francisco State University, he worked as a tree inspector and soon after acquired his Arborist Certification. He came to realize that his true interests involve developing habitable spaces for plants, animals, and humans to co-exist, so he enrolled in the Landscape Architecture certificate program at U.C. Berkeley Extension. Devin is happy to work for IDS, and is continually inspired by the work ethic of his co-workers and principals. In his free time, he enjoys drinking cold I.P.A.’s, so much so that he named his dog Ipa.
While growing up in Brazil, Mirelle learned how design can impact and change people’s lives. This compelled her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás. In 2007, she moved to San Francisco, and used her relocation as an opportunity to study Landscape Architecture at U.C. Berkeley Extension.
After graduating, she worked in commercial and community development as well as residential design. Inspired by her love for nature, Mirelle continues to expand her knowledge by analyzing and constructing social and ecological schemes in landscapes. In her free time, she likes hiking in the wild, photographing native plants, or just enjoying the sunset with her husband.
From a young age, Kari enjoyed studying and designing various art forms, eventually pursuing her passion for Landscape Architecture and urban design at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. While studying urban design for a semester at Scuola Di Amministrazione Aziendale in Torino, Italy, she became particularly interested in how design makes people interact with space.
She is currently working towards attaining her Landscape Architecture license. Outside of IDS, Kari enjoys traveling to new countries and eating different cuisines. She also likes outdoor activities, especially hiking and playing soccer.
Tim chose to pursue Landscape Architecture as a means to enrich lives by reconnecting people to the natural world. He is strongly interested in environmental issues and edible landscapes. Tim has a bachelor’s of science from Illinois State University in Art Education and a master’s of art in painting from Governor’s State University.
Tim’s love of art led him to teach high school art for eight years in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, then he transitioned into design and received his certificate in Landscape Architecture from U.C. Berkeley Extension. As a resident of Napa, Tim likes exploring the local wineries and, when his work and family schedule allows, he also enjoys painting and drawing as well as the occasional mountain biking adventure.
Amanda’s love of nature, math, and design led her to pursue a career in the field of Landscape Architecture. A Southern California native, she attended California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture with a concentration in Architectural Engineering, and a minor in Sustainable Environments.
After graduating, Amanda worked for design firms in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, developing expertise in all phases of design, from initial conceptual development and site analysis to construction administration. She spent time abroad, studying urban design and renaissance architecture in Tuscany, Italy, and renovating schools in Faridabad, India. André recently rejoined the team at IDS after nearly a decade operating a freelance graphic design studio. André first joined IDS in 2007, serving in a hybrid role that combined planning and design services with office management. André draws from his experience managing a creative practice to serve as a ‘hub’ for IDS – leading administrative, marketing, and operations for the firm. A North Bay native, André holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Urban Planning from Sonoma State University. Away from IDS, André maintains a studio practice where he hand crafts heirloom-quality patchwork quilts.
